"Developing and Highlighting Leadership from within our own Communities"

Purpose:

Youth Leadership Retreat will prepare a representative sample of youth to gain and further fine tune skills in order to be effective leaders in the success of the Regional Youth Peace Summit 2006. They will also gain skills to promote change in their own communities.

We will do this through safe and effective skills in the following topics:

1. Conflict resolution skills
2. Outreach skills
3. Skills to promote harmony in large group settings
4. Understanding our leadership roles as young men and women in our community

Method:

Youth will participate in Youth Leadership Retreat work shops, activities and press conference.

Youth will participate in the development and coordination of the overall Regional Youth Peace Summit 2006
